Here is my list of the best 3 bass fishing topwater baits. Included in this post is some video footage of all 3 of these bass fishing topwaters in action. Also listed are some pearls on how to fish the baits to help you crush bass on them yourself. These topwater baits have consistently produced fish for me and are aimed to work for you to start “Kraken” bass on top!

Best 3 Bass Fishing Topwater Baits

When the water heats up, so does the topwater action for bass fishing! These baits below have proven themselves as the best 3 bass fishing topwater baits around. Techniques, gear, and opinions obviously can change in the fishing world. Everyone is always trying to come up with new baits. These topwater baits have been solid bass-catchers in my career. There is nothing that can get the stoke juice flowing like a solid strike on top from a beast bass!

Jackall Iobee Frog

The Jackall Iobee Frog has caught me some serious fatties and a solid numbers of fish. It works amazingly well in open water and in the thick, nasty stuff. This is why I have it ranked as number one on this best bass fishing topwater baits list.

The key to the Iobee Frog is to get it to walk across the top. Having the bait sashay back and forth with little quick pops of your rod is what really gets those big bass to bite. The awesome part about the Iobee Frog is you can almost walk it in place. It can really stay in the strike zone to get those big thugs to chomp!

Megabass Pop-X

The Megabass Pop-X is the perfect finesse topwater bait. It draws topwater strikes when nothing else will. Plus, the hookup ratios are incredible with those sticky trebles they put on the baits. The pop-x has produced hundreds of bass for me from smallmouth to largemouth. It’s on this list because it really does catch ’em!

Throw the pop-x out on light 6 lbs. flourocarbon with a spinning rod to get the best results. It’s a little too light to throw effectively on a baitcasting rod. My retrieve of choice is to do a pop, pop, pop, rest style retrieve. Check out the video below to see this bait in action and how to work it to get a bass to suck it down.

Keitech Noisy Flapper

The Keitech Noisy Flapper is a sleeper topwater bait; it gets those bass “Kraken!” There are so many topwaters on the market, it was a hard choice for me to pick the keitech flapper as the third best bass fishing topwater bait. The reason it rises above a spook bait, buzz bait, or whopper plopper is because of what is demonstrated in the video below. Check it out. You’ll be stoked.

The Keitech Noisy Flapper is used like a buzz bait. Rig it up with a 5/0 owner twist lock hook and send it into battle. It subtly disturbs the surface and can go through a lot of cover. Reel it steadily to keep the bait up on the top of the water with the legs kicking. If you get a strike and the bass misses the bait, kill your retrieve. The Noisy Flapper will subtly sink and the bass will come back and chomp it! It’s a solid bite get’r for sure!
